After handing it in, I would have been thrilled with a B. I was surprised when I opened the manila folder and seen that I had done better than I would have allowed myself to hope for. My professor found my writing "compelling," which is odd considering the nature of the assignment. A compelling memo ???

I won't be more specific than that.

If not I found the key it to robotically follow your professor’s instructions and suggestions verbatim. I structured my sentences and paragraphs exactly as they where in the Shapo text and on her slide presentations.; 8:11 AM
Saucy Intruder said...: Well, it's law school, and no advice is useful unless you have counter-advice. Robotically following instructions did NOT lead me to do well in legal writing. For the most part, I found that people who knew what they were doing and just kept doing it did better.; 2:35 PM
